According to officials, the reduction in prices has been proposed for 15 days. The new prices will be announced this evening after the approval of the Prime Minister. It may be recalled that the government had also reduced the prices of petrol and diesel on March 31. The Finance Ministry had announced a reduction in the prices of petroleum products for the next fortnight from April 1. On the recommendation of OGRA, the Finance Ministry reduced the price of diesel by Rs. 3 per liter.
Petrol was reduced by Rs1.55 per liter, light diesel by Rs1.56 per liter and kerosene by Rs55 per liter. After reduction in prices of petroleum products, the new price of petrol was fixed at Rs 110.35 per liter, diesel at Rs 113.8 per liter, light diesel at Rs 79.86 per liter and kerosene at Rs 82.06 per liter.
